Programs

Lake Sylvia Flute Institute is proud to offer a wide range of programs for every flutist. Swap out buzzing phones and glowing screens for wind rustling through the leaves and moonlight on the lake. We provide a unique, high-quality musical experience with a dedicated and familial community, inspiring environment, and commitment to accessibility, offering scholarships based on need. Please click on the program headings below for more information about each one.

Our student program is a 5-day/4-night camp for students aged 3-17. We offer a traditional Suzuki institute experience as well as enrichment options. Although many campers take Suzuki lessons, any interested flutist is welcome. Classes create a friendly environment, where individual achievement emerges from community support. In free periods, a whole camp full of summer fun awaits!

Student Program

As a teacher, you know the importance of lifelong learning and focused practice. Training at Lake Sylvia gives you the opportunity to observe and learn from some of the best Suzuki teachers in the nation. We offer Book One for those interested in joining the Suzuki community and create our schedule to allow multiple books at once for returning Suzuki teachers.

Teacher Training

Music fills a different role in each of our lives but we all know the challenge of making room for it in a nonstop world. Our flute retreat meets you where you're at and offers 2-day and 5-day options to fit every schedule. Take time to renew yourself and your music. Return home refreshed and inspired in everything you do.

Adult Flute Retreat

Whichever program you register for, the whole family can come along for a lakeside mini-vacation. Everything you'd want at a traditional cabin is here, with a beach, boats, games, trails, and a play set. Enjoy the camp as your child's companion rather than chauffeur! Siblings are also welcome to observe classes or register for art.
